Tutoring Sessions

Sessions are conducted online using a video meeting and a shared whiteboard that both the student and tutor can edit. The whiteboard is also accessible to the student before and after the lesson.

SAT and ACT Tutoring Program

It is strongly recommended to enroll in X Factory Test Prep: Streamlined SAT Math and complete at least the first 4 Modules before scheduling tutoring. The course covers just about everything you would have learned in the first several tutoring sessions. You might even decide to use the course only, and not do tutoring sessions at all! Yes, ACT students should also sign up for the 'SAT' course. I am working on an ACT version of the course, but it is not ready yet. There will be a lot of overlap, plus a few added sections, and the practice problems will all have 4 choices. (The SAT course contains some practice problems that are not multiple choice, but these are still valuable to practice with!) Please see the lesson 'ACT Workaround' in Module 1 to find out which parts of this course are important for ACT students.

Note: The course helps you quickly learn to get many more questions right, but doesn't cover everything you might be tested on. If you are already scoring high, and need to work on only the hardest questions, then tutoring is recommended as a supplement to the course.

Fees:

  • Students enrolled in X Factory Test Prep: Streamlined SAT Math and who have completed at least through Module 4 are eligible for discounted tutoring sessions: $110 per 1-hour session.
  • Students who are enrolled in X Factory Test Prep: Streamlined SAT Math but have not yet completed through Module 4: $150 per 1-hour session.
  • Tutoring package: $585
    Includes four 1-hour tutoring sessions and free access to X Factory Test Prep: Streamlined SAT Math for 6 months.
    Required supplies

    The best way to proceed with this package is to complete at least Module 1 of the online course before your first tutoring session. More is always better, though! Bring questions to the tutoring session or request practice on specific topics. Then, make progress in the course before your next tutoring session. Once you complete through Module 4, you are eligible for the discounted rate for individual lessons.

Tutoring For Math Courses

1 hour session: $110

Tutoring  for school math courses, enrichment, or remediation may be booked for any of the following courses. If your course is not on this list, please email Linda to ask if she can help you.

  • Calculus (AP and College level, too)
  • Precalculus
  • Trigonometry
  • Geometry
  • Algebra 1 & 2
  • College Algebra
